  • 2. Het bisdom werd in 1592 formeel opgeheven ten gevolge van de Reformatie, toen het een Apostolisch Vicariaat van de Hollandse Zending werd. In 1853 werd het opnieuw een bisdom. Vanaf 2009 werd het diocees het bisdom Haarlem-Amsterdam geheten.
